Huntsman Knife Case Hardened: blue gem pattern guide

Huntsman Knife | Case Hardened

The Huntsman hides the best two-for-one in the blue gem world: its texture is mirrored, so the legendary #618 looks identical on playside and backside - a genuine double-sided blue gem, no compromise side. #29 resembles it with a gold tip.

HOW THE PATTERN WORKS
Case Hardened is one big mottled texture of blue, purple and gold patina; the pattern index (0-1000) rolled when the item drops picks which slice of it lands on the model. Blue occupies the smallest share of that texture, so a seed that lands heavy blue on the side you actually see - the playside - is the rare one. The blue never fades with wear: float adds scratches and darkens the golds, but a blue gem stays blue even Battle-Scarred.

WHAT COUNTS ON THIS ITEM
Uniquely for a Case Hardened, the playside/backside distinction barely matters here - the mirror means what you see is what everyone sees. The blade is large, so even the top seeds keep some gold.
OBLIGATORY PLUG
Double-sided blue, single-digit ticket price - one of those is on our draw pages. The pattern index is printed before you enter, unlike the case that sold you a Safari Mesh. Browse the draws ->
