Flip Knife Case Hardened: blue gem pattern guide
Pound for pound the Flip has the single best blue in the game: #670 covers over 95% of the playside - more than the famous Karambit #387 manages - and belongs to the Belgian collector Krieke. #321 follows at ~92%. Tier 1 Flips run roughly $5k-$10k depending on wear and StatTrak, which is cheap by blue-gem standards. The Flip also shares its top seeds with the Bayonet - same texture, different wrap.
HOW THE PATTERN WORKS
Case Hardened is one big mottled texture of blue, purple and gold patina; the pattern index (0-1000) rolled when the item drops picks which slice of it lands on the model. Blue occupies the smallest share of that texture, so a seed that lands heavy blue on the side you actually see - the playside - is the rare one. The blue never fades with wear: float adds scratches and darkens the golds, but a blue gem stays blue even Battle-Scarred.
