Five-SeveN Case Hardened: blue gem pattern guide
The Five-SeveN is the budget blue-gem chase. Only the slide is case-hardened metal (the grip is polymer), so one great slide seed is all it takes - and #278 is that seed: 90%+ blue, an almost spotless deep-blue slide with only tiny purple and gold flecks.
HOW THE PATTERN WORKS
Case Hardened is one big mottled texture of blue, purple and gold patina; the pattern index (0-1000) rolled when the item drops picks which slice of it lands on the model. Blue occupies the smallest share of that texture, so a seed that lands heavy blue on the side you actually see - the playside - is the rare one. The blue never fades with wear: float adds scratches and darkens the golds, but a blue gem stays blue even Battle-Scarred.

WHAT COUNTS ON THIS ITEM
Tier = blue coverage of the playside slide, full stop. The polymer frame never changes, and backside blue only adds a minor premium.
A top-condition #278 trades for four figures - absurd for a Five-SeveN, and still the cheapest entry into "people screenshot my inventory" territory. Note the fun inversion: #661, the god-tier AK seed, is only tier 3 on this gun. The seed picks a slice of the texture per model - fame does not transfer.
